DEAR (DEER?) DIARY

MEDIUM: MIXED MEDIA (ballpoint pen, paper, tracing paper, old postcard, thread and dried flower), 21x32cm
‘« Today my hands feel very far away. A fog (I think?) has settled in. »
« I’ll be leaving piles of clothes in bathrooms like landmarks (heap of stones) in foreign land. Waking up. Finding comfort in seeing that I was there just yesterday. »
I made this to explore the disconnect that comes with feeling out of touch with reality. Initially, I wanted to focus on the anxiety it induced, but the elements I ended up choosing seem rather to center on loneliness and maybe a kind of grief.
It's an attempt at understanding this temporary change of perception and, I think, ultimately accepting it.’
