ARTIST’S STATEMENT;

‘Every April, Ellar enters a dissociative fugue. Time and identity begin to blur as he attempts to document each passing day, hoping, just for a minute, that May will be kinder.
Drawing from Lacan's theory of the “imago”—the constructed image of self that is both a comfort and a prison—Marginalia interrogates what it means to truly know oneself. Can the act of documentation preserve identity, or does it only highlight its inevitable decay?’
