DOMINUS TECUM

MEDIUM: CHARCOAL AND CHARCOAL PENCIL ON TONED PAPER

“I was hesitant with this artwork because I think the idea of ‘religious bastardization’ can get tired, but I like the idea of a religious figure turning to a bargain, the assumption being as a last resort, inadvertently or otherwise. I am religious, and that struggle to keep piousness in the face of one’s own idea of temptation, whether it follows traditional religious belief or personal, can be one that changes and taints a person, which is ultimately the devils goal in such a bargain, and is something I attempted to portray.”
