ALLIGATOR TEETH
his hand the halo above my head, my lips in silent prayer,
begging.
fangs tear,
pure and sharp
alligator teeth dance across my flesh,
twisting bone into a pretty little scrap to lay,
spread and eager,
begging,
please please please
matted hair dances with muddy waters across my neck,
strangling
flies dance across my eyes
if they find me
i’ll be buried beside my foremothers,
in chapel white lace,
wholly devoured by devotion.
