QUIT YOUR JOB AND RUN AWAY, In Silent C
Peace sequesters with acquiescence.
However evanescent,
To ascend
Is to ascend
Is to
Sense your conscience, that wily abscess
Growing in the sense that it has always been
Twelve steps behind the flex of the muscle
To sense is not obscenity
Your fascination is not upended
Rather–it is resuscitated in the wake of change

“Caroline Newhart is a 21 year old writer from Los Angeles, California, currently in mental health treatment in the aforementioned city for their varied ailments and ills. Much of Caroline’s inspiration for prose and poetry comes from gruff men like Charles Bukowski, astutely melancholy women like Francois Sagan, as well as the words, sentiments, and experience within their dreams and interpersonal connections. “Quit Your Job and Run Away, in Silent C” was written at a residential treatment center outside of Cincinnati, Ohio, and explores the sensory rebirth of recovery and ways in which they have (or hope to) lean into the sensitivity that this raptures.”
