THINGS WE NORMALLY DO
let’s do the things we normally do
wine bar lighting, warm summer air
normally laughing.
i made you cry, because i felt like crying.
we stand on the street, normal things
you’re shaking, i’m shaking my head,
normal.
we do it to each other, don’t look at each other.
i’ll do that thing again, despondency
i’m shivering now, cool rushed whispers
it’s normal.
sit back down together, warm arm around me.
tears stuck in my chest.
i want to run from here.
