HELLO WORLD, I AM GOD
I greet you, World because I am
part of you. A teeny tiny part, like
Celestial Pearl Danio but also smaller
like a grain of sand.
But also God, I am
part of you. We all are,
chopped pieces thrown into
the soup of the Pacific ocean
spat out at the shore
of existence. The Gulf of Mexico.
I ask: Is that not wonderful?
Is that not magical?
My skin is made out of stars because I say so.
I am a Sagittarius sun, a centaur. Mythical.
My mother says I am not real and I believe her.
I am not who I was before. A kaleidoscope.
A chameleon. Yesterday I woke up
as a red rose, I acted like a slut for sunlight.
Today I am a girl, I offer myself in
a short skirt and a smile. Tomorrow,
maybe I will be an earthworm
and squirm in the dirt.
A smear of dark matter, I am a thing
of great importance. Papyrus,
preposterous. But I am
the missing verses of Homer, you will
find me buried in bed
a sacred place where I give myself
the little death and am reborn
within the lens of a camera where
you can see me opening my mouth,
pointing to the universe.
