PYGMALION PROBLEMS

i. animal ruins
pig blood dries faster than donkey
this is something i have found to be true
another thing is that i won’t ever be
(there’s a glut of canned fruit where I’m standing)
happy with what i have

ii. temple time
fortune tellers boiled animal heads
under toenail-clipping moons
cracked jawbones and slosh
like wet cake (cherry bakewell)

i drop to the floor in the
public toilet of pallas athene
the priest / attendant has
locked me in
(i will probably benefit from this)

i eat my battenberg and watch
icing drip from the tap

iii. sculpture
i’m not sure i got it right with
the sun she gives me too many
headaches
and too much love outside
supermarkets

brain jam apricot leaks
out my diary
onto my slippers
